Soaking up the Last Bit of Summer

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Freefall

Summer isn’t officially over this year until September 22, but for us Labor Day weekend always feels like the end of summer. It’s like the last hurrah before we really get into the school year and say goodbye to the lazy days of summer fun.

For the last couple of years we’ve been celebrating the end of summer by going to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk on Labor Day weekend. It’s a bit of a drive from our home in San Francisco, but well worth it.

We get there early when all of the sleepy heads are still in their pjs at home and have as much fun as we can until someone gets grouchy and it’s time to go home.

The world seems to be falling apart around us, which is why those of us who are lucky enough to be able to enjoy family, friends and fun should never take any of it for granted.

How are you soaking up the last bit of summer?

Glad you are out of the storm and fires – it’s just crazy. The whole of Florida is covered by the storm now.
